CHIPS is a Non-Profit Lead by a Volunteer Board of Directors
CHIPS was founded in 2004 to put people in our economically depressed communities back to work. CHIPS has a nine-member governing board and more than 20 employees, including members of the West Point Miwok community. In 2010, along with the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, CHIPS founded the Amador-Calaveras Consensus Group (ACCG), which was awarded Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Act funding in 2012. The ACCG is dedicated to an all-lands, triple bottom line approach to guide our work and is committed to the principles outlined under Secretary Vilsak's Leadership Intent document regarding forest restoration.
